330 ml. bottle sampled at Gollem thanks to the brewer! & Read the description people & the bottle, this is an Imperial Pale Ale so clearly not a DIPA which is how is entered on RB, which is how others rated it, it seems. Imperial old school UK ale with intentionally no modern USA hop profile, this is more of a historical mild. That is what I remember from his explanation, hope that I got it right. Dark orange amber, little tanned head. Nose is DE fish guts profile, interesting, quite heavy on that, mild herbal sweetness & faint hint of alcohol. Taste is mellow, carries almost faint oxidation-like notes, herbal, very mellow oily plants, low fish guts, whole makes me think of more something akin to a strong DE Bock, raisin, low fruit,… Lighter than 10 % ABV for sure, nowhere near as thick malt body as you would expect. Very interesting brew, quite unique, for me this is maybe a bit too even tasting with not much interplay, that is exactly what the brewer was going for. Overall exactly what he was aiming for, very interesting, not entirely to my personal preferences, very unique. Great label. I did prefer the very interesting South African Basil, Wine BA Brett beer that the brewer was kind enough to share.

Bottle @ home. Clear amber color, full sized a bit creamy white to off-white head that lasts for a long time. Aroma is malts, alcohol, raisins. Taste malts, again alcohol and raisins, sweet and bitter at the same time and it also somehow reminds me of apricot and grape. An average barley wine at best, not in a million years is this an Imperial / Double IPA.

Bottle at Monday Club Erzbierschof. Lots of onion and radish, almost like a salad. Well done though. Well hidden booze. Thick and heavy. Unusual!
