Ingredients: Pale ale, smoked, wheat malts; Cascade hops; tomato juice; salt; pepper; Wyeast 1056 yeast; water.
We worked on mimicking cocktails in beer before. But this one is special even for us. Our love for sour beers always asks us to push our boundaries even further when we think of what to add to the acidic beers that we make. This time we have decided to explore the unknown horizons and pay tribute to the country side area where we are based at. We have decided to make sour tomato ale. Based on that, we thought it would be nice to create something close to Bloody Mary cocktail. That’s why we used some smoked malt, salt and spicy peppers on the way.

Bottled, thanks Nisse666! Clear pale golden, fizzy head. Aroma of lemon and salted ketchup. Tart with light body and spritzy mouthfeel. Cardamom and light citric acid, thankfully very slight notes of ketchup. Low bitterness. Sounds like the worst idea for a beer ever, but could have ended up so much worse.

0,33 flaske fra Bulgarsk Mad i Rantzausgade, i lejligheden nov-18: klar strågylden med ok skum. Overkarbonert, bruser mye på tungen. Tomater, hvit pepper, lime, citron og hint av røyk. Lime og citron i ettersmaken, nesten uten bitterhet. Kjøleskapskald var den en god tørsteslukker etter 3 mil på sykkelen. Men egentlig litt rar, eller kanskje bare uvant med så lav bitterhet i et øl, den smaker nesten som citronbrus tilsatt litt tomatjuice.

Bottle 330ml. [ As Sakiškių Bloody Mary Gose ].Clear light to medium yellow colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, wood, oak, dry, tomatoes. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, tar, smoked, tomatoes, oak, wood, wheat, light salty. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20180914] 5-3-5-3-10
