2009 bottle. It pours cloudy deep, with a thin light pink head. The nose is subdued cherry, red wine vinegar, wood, vanilla and almond. The taste is tart cherry, lemon, green apple, grape skin, red wine vinegar and wood, with tart finish. Light-medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Surprisingly all right stuff from Mort Subite. Good flavour, but perhaps a bit one-dimensional.

375 ml bottle bought @ Bierzwerg.de. Pours hazy red with a small pinkish white head that dissipates quickly while leaving almost no trace. Smell is sweet, tiny sour, fresh and fruity with cherries, hints of sour cherries, cinnamon, burnt sugar and hints of barnyard. Taste is sour with lemon juice, green apples, sour cherries, earthy minerals, leather and hay. Mouthfeel is tart and very very sour. Finish is tart with apples and cherries.

2010 Bottle. Small light head and a foggy velvet body to make up for it. Aroma of wood and soft cherries, not particularily fresh. Flavour is incredibly well balanced between soft cherries and wood and then the lemony kriek - all distinct, all working well together. Nice light palate. This is a very good kriek.

Poured from at bottle at the brewery. Pink ring at the surface of a hazy, reddish body. Modest smell of dry fruits and berries. Taste of tart-sweet cherries. Mild acidity and sweetness to the ending. Medium bodied. Average in my book (last stop on Toer de Geuze, Kobbegem 01.05.2011).

Rating of bottle with ’Oogst (harvest) 2009’
Deep ruby red beer, slightly reddish white head. Aroma very fruity cherry, quite tart, vanilla, bit sweetish still, wild yeast. Flavour rather tart, ripe cherry, vanilla, lactic acid. Not much sweetness, even though the aroma seemed quit sweet. Rather dry tart finish with pronounced cherry notes.
