Our efforts toward continuous improvement have paid off with the latest batch in the Flavored Mikshake Stout series. Complex layered notes of chocolate, caramel and toasted pecans mix with the familiar taste of the original Milkshake Stout and raise the decadance of this dessert beer. Ninja Turtle pours jet black with an off white to tan colored head.

16 ounce can into pint glass, best before 9/14/2017. Pours crystal clear nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big milk chocolate, toasted pecan, caramel, brown sugar, cocoa, vanilla, cream, dark bread, light coffee/herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, cocoa, lactose, and pecan notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk chocolate, toasted pecan, caramel, brown sugar, cocoa, vanilla, cream, dark bread, light coffee/herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk chocolate, toasted pecan, caramel, brown sugar, cocoa, vanilla, cream, dark bread, light coffee/herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, cocoa, lactose, and pecan flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Minimal dryness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready, and lightly silky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.25%. Overall this is a very great flavored milk stout. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, cocoa, lactose, and pecan flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. Pretty rich feeling for the modest ABV. Great authentic pecan flavors that are a touch buttery, with great balance of the base beer. A really delicious offering.
