Taster @ beer tasting with Suus @ Taplokaal Gist, Utrecht. Dark brown with an off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts with some hops. Sweet taste. Not really as hop forward as most black IPA's but pleasant nontheless.

Bottle from Brewcraft at home after MOS hike. Hazy medium brown pour with puffy light cappuccino head. Aroma is roasted nut, coffee bitterness, toasted bread. Taste is big bitter coffee, big booze, some nutty biscuit malt. Light palate. Fine carbonation. Lasting bitter warmth. Not bad but not great - a bit more like a bitter brown ale or slightly hoppy stout.

30 April 2019. At Dirk's First Home-made Beer Tasting. Cheers to all! Pours hazy dark brown-black with a lasting, small, foamy, beige head. Aroma of walnut, roasted hazelnut, fig, fondant, chicory, earth, biscuit, cigar ash. Taste is light to medium malty sweet, subtle chocolate & biscuit on a deeply nutty base, making way for roasted bitter notes of fondant, tobacco & early graperfruity hoppiness, vaguely orange-like, ending dryish with earthy hops, lingering toast, coffee, some ash. Medium body, slick-oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Nice Black IPA with Belgian supporting maltiness. Original rating: 18 March 2018, at Trollekelder, Ghent. 6/4/7/3/14=3.4
