Black with quick fading head. Aroma has vanilla, whisky and wood. Flavour has orange oil and milk chocolate. Interesting but too sweet.

Almost clear dark brown beer, good bubbly tan head. Airy palate, semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Thinnish dark malts, very moderate dark chocolate. Light orange runs throughout. Back end is slightly spicy and warming. A little generic fruitiness as well. Fine but De Molen have done many many better Impies.

Aus der Flasche (bottled 07.03.2019 / bbe 07.03.2024 ) im 2019-11 getrunken. Dieses mit Orangenzesten gebraute Stout hat enttäuschend wenig Orangennoten. Ich hatte hier mit eine Aroma wie bei Jaffa-Kekse erwartet, aber leider ist dem nicht so. Es bleibt aber das De Molen weiß wie sie Stouts brauen und daher ist auch dieses richtig lecker.

Bottle. Black. Dried fruit, smoke and peat in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with soft roast, peat, whisky and dried red fruit. The whisky dominates. Lovely!

Bottle. Black pour. Aroma of sweet fruity whisky, chocolate, tart orange, roasted malt and licorice. Taste of smoke, bitter roasted malt, tart orange, chocolate, whisky booze, some peat and licorice. I was expecting more smooth fruity whisky flavors, instead of the peat and smoke. This is a bit messy, but it works in a way. Interesting and enjoyable.
