Bottle sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks kerenmk. Black with some tan foam. Nice big roasty aroma with coffee, smoke and some dark fruits. Mildly sweetish flavor, roasty, kinda smoky, with some coffee, chocolate, a bit of dark fruits, and a bitterish finish. Quite rounded mouthfeel. A very good one.

At a tasting, thanks, a little thick pour, opaque black color, aroma of toasted bread, some coffee and olives, hint of leather and dark malts, flavor of characoal with hints of dark chocolate and wood, much too sweet with alcohol showing strong. Much too heavy.

Black with thin head. Aroma is quite intense with lots of heavily roasted malts and some coffee grinds. A very thick and oily texture with almost no carbonation. Strong flavour. There’s an underlying malty sweetness but also the more obvious burnt, bitterness too.

330ml bottle @ Bier-Bier, Helsinki
Pours pitch black with a foamy brown head. Aroma of roasty malts, licorice, dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee and hints of ash. Taste is smooth, roasty and salty with some licorice, coffee, cocoa and dark chocolate. Finish is smooth, slick and slightly roasty with some lingering salty licorice notes and hints of dark chocolate. Quite smooth and balanced.

33 cl bottle @ Bier-Bier. Batch 27, BBE 12/2015. Aroma has strong cocoa tones, some hay, salty licorice and mellow tobacco tones. Flavour has salty licorice, ash, tobacco and coffee. Quite close to the Royal Porter; this is just more salty and dry.
