A primeira Petroleum você nunca esquece!

Bottled. Black colour with pretty much no head. Aroma is alcohol, some peat, mild roasted and ashy tones with some chocolate and a bit citrusy tones (strangely enough). Aroma is chocolate, coffee, ashy, some peated tones, quite big on the bitterness with also some alcohol and dried fruits kicking in.

Many thanks for this 355ml bottle to Dariusz Sokol. czekoladowy Tort Sachera, mnostwo kawy wytrawnosci chmielnosci, goryczki, pralin, alkohol umiejetnie ukryty, troche rozpuszczonych kukulek, makowiec z dodatkiem amaretto i rodzynki, czekolada gozka taka z 90%, kawa czarna bez dodatkow, oczywiscie brazylijska, mocno palona, sporo ciala, palonych nut, nieco ogniskowego dymu i przyjemna szlachetna kwaskowosc. Wyglad piwa to oleiste czarne geste z minimalna piana ale jak fajnie jest ciemna, bardzo ciemno brazowa. Finisz i posmak, niesamowicie dlugi. Porzadna rzecz i do tego egzotyka, chyba jedno z lepszych piw z poza Europy.

355ml bottle. Jet black colour with small, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige to tan head. Dark malty aroma with notes of molasses, treacle, a minimally earthy, smoky touch, vinous overtones with a touch of blue grapes. Taste is dry, slightly bitter, roasty dark malty, minimally earthy, ashy, smoky, minimally mineral and papery, hints of dark chocolate, molasses; minimally warming, alcoholic finish. Full body, oily to viscous texture, smooth and soft palate. Quite dirty and oily - pretty deserves the naming.

Bottle share courtesy of Blake. An apt name for this brew, pours out black and oily. Very roasty in aroma and taste, kind of smoky.. Hints of sweetness and chocolate are evident too, just enough to catch your attention.

Bottled at Ottawa gathering. Dark black with rich brown head. Oily, peaty nose. Mid sweet with a light tartness. Full bodied with rounded, oily mouthfeel. Lemon, tar, peat and licorice. Warming bitter finish. A big beer, no doubt.
