Pours black, medium tanned head. Smell is intense, coffee. Taste is full, rather bitter. Sweetness is mild. Intense coffee. Roasted malts build a very solid backbone.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with slightly late awakening, average, thick, creamy, mostly lasting, moderately lacing, tan head. Roasty, slightly chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, coffee, some liquorice, liquorice root, a touch of caramel, cautious fruity overtones with a touch of blueberry; coffee flavours reach predominance with time. Taste is sweet caramel malty and slightly bitter, roasty dark malty, notes of caramel and treacle, dark chocolate and coffee, hints of dark honey, a touch of vanilla, fruity hints of plum and blueberry. Oily to viscous texture, smooth, soft and slightly sticky palate, a minimally warming touch of alcohol in the finish. Not the most complex Impy Stout, but very pleasing, harmonious, catchy.
