Bottle at RBWG. Pours a deep black appearance with a dark brown head. Bright cinnamon, rich dark chocolate, caramel, nutty aroma. Oily, thick German chocolate cake with some vanilla and a ton of coconut. This is amazing. Incredibly good in the small portion I had.

Bottle @ Abijen’s Christmas non-tick tasting. Strong aroma of cocos, vanilla, cacao and creamy roast. Rich amazing flavor of milky cocos, chocolate, vanilla, nuts, cinnamon, spices and a long evolving delicious finish. This is really friggin’ amazing.

Bottle @ Abijen’s Christmas non-tick tasting, small sample. Dark color, short head. Aroma of coconut, vanilla, roasted malts, caramel, cookie, biscuit. Lovely coconut in taste, bit sweet, some vanilla. Well balanced, and I love coconut BA beers. Wonderful.

Enjoyed from bottle at Emporium Logan Square in Chicago, IL while enjoying beers with co-workers. I'm hesitant to give this one the perfect 5.0 rating, and I probably should because this is more or less flawless, but I still prefer the coffee BCBS over any other variants. Overall though, this is the most complex of the BCBS variants I've had, great blend of chocolate, coconut, oak, coffee, booze, and a whole bunch of other stuff that makes this a close to perfect beer that I'll take over Dark Lord any day of the week. Damn near perfect!

Sample at Denver Rare Beer Tasting VII on 09/25/2015. Pours black with a medium foamy beige head that diminishes gradually to a film. Patchy lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of roast malt, coconut, black licorice and chocolate. Full-bodied with flavors of chocolate malt, coconut, anise and coffee. The finish is roasty with a coconut mocha aftertaste. Very good beer all around.
