Bottled (huge thanks to tkrjukoff!). Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is liquorice, some coconut, mild alcohol, syrup and some carmelly and toasted notes. Flavour is coconut, alcohol, some liquorice and chocolate along with some alcohol and mild wooden notes. Really smooth and tasty. Excellent balance and just a bigtime brew in any way!

Drunk side by side with the Backyard 2013 at a tasting, this beer smoked it and was one of the stars of the show. 2014 proprietors great brown sugar, cocoa and sweet aroma. Lovely medium bodied with a raspy mouthfeel. Sweet brown sugar, coconut, rye, with bourbon heat and sweet chocolate. Delicious but lots of heat.

On tap at Belmont. Pours a jet black color with a small beige head. A big sweet sticky roast and fruit nose. The flavor is big coconut, cinnamon, fresh whiskey, dark fruit. That wonderful viscous body from the BCS lineup. Very slick. Tasty. Drinkable as all hell.

Bomber courtesy of hackobock. Pours oily pitch black with a small creamy mocha head that leaves some sparse trace on the glass while quickly dissipating. Smell is intense, malty, roasty and tiny fruity with roasted malts, burnt caramel, toffee, vanilla fudge, charred wood, dark chocolate, dark roast coffee, toasted coconut, bounty bar, raisins, moist soil and bourbon alcohol. Taste is sweet, bitter, malty and roasty. Mouthfeel is fat, round, oily, boozy, tiny roasted astringent and full bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, toffee, vanilla fudge, charred wood, dark roast coffee, bounty bar, chocolate covered raisins, moist soil and bourbon alcohol. Very tasty as with all beers Iäve tried in this series but this feels more gimmicky than other versions. 2013 version is more to my liking.Re-rate! Bomber courtesy of tkrjukoff. Heavy roast, dark chocolate, coffee, bourbon and coconut water. Very much tastes like regular BCBS mixed with the kind of coconut water (soda) you can buy at the asian food store. Gimmicky but good! --- Beer merged from original tick of Proprietor's Bourbon County Brand Stout (2014) on 07 Jul 2015 at 17:40 - Score: 8. Original review text: @ Sahtipaja. Luxurios, rich and damn good but still gimmicky compared to the 2013 version and a bit hot.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of rich chocolate notes with vanilla and bourbon notes with strong notes of sweet coconut is really unique and quite interesting. Taste is a complex and multi-layer mix of black chocolate, sweet coconut notes and light spicy cinnamon with well-balanced vanilla and bourbon notes to round off any rough edges. Body is full with nice creamy texture with good carbonation and surpassingly no apparent alcohol. I know the coconut is a bit gimmicky but I must admit I really enjoyed this beer. Not sure I would drink large quantities of it but nice to be sharing with other people.

Bottle courtesy of Stephen and shared with the Shape crew. Anno 2014.
