Bottle shared by Joe. Pours cloudy red, with no head. The aroma is black cherries, caramel, oak, cloves, and lemons. Very tart and acidic, with a nice fruity sweetness. Medium to heavy body, creamy, and crisp. Overall, this is a very nice, incredibly tart, but well balanced beer. Not as approachable (i.e. fruit jelly) as Lindemans, but much more complex. Thanks, Joe!

375 ml bottle bought from Systembolaget. Dark red color with small beige head that quickly disappears. Funky and sour aroma of tart cherries, barnyard notes, wood. Taste is light sweet, tart fruity acidic. Light to medium body, almost oily, soft carbonation with nice bitter spicy fruity aftertaste.

9/19/2014 at Erzbierschof. Sweeter fruitiness than 3 Fonteinen. Lovely dark cherry-ruby color with a small pink-red foam. A bit of spices in the aroma, complex tartness, sweet-sour cherries. Great taste. A good Kriek! 8-5-8-4-16 = 4.1 7/9/2016. Bottle of unknown vintage, Lot C / BB 2027. Murky brownish color. Acetic, mouth-puckering sour, citrus, a bit spicy, cinnamony as well. Quite extreme. 8-3-7-3-15.

$11.55 for the 375ml bottle, bottled in January 2014.
It pours a murky dark red, reddish head of foam, reddish lacing.
I can sure smell the sour cherries and oak. Delightful.
Sour cherries and the woody oak in the taste with some hints of vanilla, I find a near perfect level of sourness. If I want a tad more, I simply swish the beer in my mouth. I reckon some time in a cellar could do even more for this brew.
About medium bodied, light carbonation.
This is very good indeed.

Oude kriek with thin, off-white head and deep brownish red colour, hazy. Very funky aroma, lots of horseblanket, flowers, sherry, wet hay and obviously sour cherries. Sour onset, bit vinegar-like, lots of fresh sour cherries, funky, complex, woody and refreshing with a meaty hint of horse steak. An earthy, acidic and different example of its style, I’m sure its funkiness and uncompromising attitude will not be to anyone’s liking, not even those in favour of the style, as I have noticed a couple of times...

A red beer with a weak and blond head. The nose is strongly sour and naturally cherry, lether, earthyness and some grapes. Taste is strongly sour, vinegar, mild cherries, some lether. The end is slightly sticky and sourness is strong in the mouth. Medium bodied, fresh. Strongly sour with mild cherries.

Bottle. Sweeter, but also more sour compared to Cantillons kriek. Big strawberry notes. Maybe not as complex and deep as other offerings, but sure drinkable and nice.
