Poured totally flat. Aromas are tart cherries, malt and culture. Flavors are similar to nose but with lots of vinegar. Too much vinegar. Drain pour.

Bottle shared at home. Pours ruby copperish with no head. Nose is leathery, earthy funk, cherries are present of course, meggybefőtt. Taste is highly acidic, some acetic acid also shows, some leather too, cherries as well. The finish is dry and acidic, the body is light and the carbonation is flat.

definetly has that barnyard lambic smell.
pour a deep ruby red with a little pink head. Not much depth in the flavour though, i can detect some cherry in there, but the sourness is quite overpowering. The sourness is definetly taking away from the cherries.

Notes from April 2009 Champagne-sized variety. Pours out a dull pink, but settles into my tulip a sherry vinegar-like color. Murky. A good spritz of off-white head dies & lingers around the edges. Smells of strawberries & sweat at first, eventually becoming the imitation sugar-laden cherry syrup that gets oozed over your Carvel sundae. Tail end is acrid wood & burnt sugar. A notion of turned wine at first, it is immediately replaced with a nice, only slightly offensive pucker that is similar to old white grapefruit juice. Lightly caramelized sugar fills in just before an idea of cherry pits, cork, & what seems like apricot. The finish is tart & dry with vinegar & bread crust. Carbonation is mild, but whips up the acid at the end. Feel is slightly, slightly, yeasty. Overall, not too memorable, if only that I rarely make work of a 750 of anything but cheap champagne. Drinkability suffers because of price & the unmemorable qualities my limited short-term memory retains.

5/V/24 - 75cl bottle @ Toer de Geuze, BB: +20Y, bottled: XII/2020 (2024-277) Thanks to all for sharing today’s beers!
Little cloudy bright red beer, small creamy white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: dry impression, hay, funky, weird, hay, cow fodder. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very sourish start, dry, some vinegar, lemony, some cherries. Aftertaste: dry, some tannins, spicy, very acidic, ok, not great. Schaarbeekse kriek is much better.

375ml bottle from hopt.it, France. Pours opaque red, medium hazy, with no foam. Aroma is aggressively funky, vinous, acetic. Body is average, with moderate carbonation. Astringency is rather aggressive, even a little oily. Taste is aggressively sour, even acetic to quite an extent. Final is quite challenging, with the last, aggressive boom of astringency. Overall, a masterpiece!
