440 mml. Can. Tasted on the 13/03/2019 at home. Dark brown colour with a medium tan head with good retention. Aroma is molasses, black chocolate, roasted malts and ashes. Taste is intense ashy and roasty with a soft touch of black chocolate. Smooth molasses finish. Next one please!

On tap at LIB'19. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of roast, some ash, ink, hint of toffee. Flavour follows, lots of roast, light ashy, lacks balance. Medium bodied.

16 oz can. Pours light brown to black with a tan head. Aroma is roasty and ashy, cocoa. Flavor roasty, ashen bitter cocoa, touching on molasses. Coffee toward the finish. It's pretty tasty.

Can thanks to Sean! Pours black with an earthy dark brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has strong roasted malts and dark grains with a bit of chocolate and tobacco backing. Flavor is similar with roast and tobacco supported by dark grains and a touch of chocolate underlying.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned in 10/2018. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky dark tan head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, nuttiness, toasted biscuit, dark/brown bread, citrus peel/rind, pepper, and pine; with lighter notes of toffee, molasses, licorice, raisin, fig, smoke, charcoal, herbal, floral, grass, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/brown malts, citrus/earthy hops, and light fruity yeast notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, nuttiness, toasted biscuit, dark/brown bread, citrus peel/rind, pepper, and pine; with lighter notes of toffee, molasses, licorice, raisin, fig, smoke, charcoal, herbal, floral, grass, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy peppery hop; and roast/char bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, nuttiness, toasted biscuit, dark/brown bread, citrus peel/rind, pepper, pine, light molasses/licorice/dark fruit, smoke, charcoal, herbal, floral, grass, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/brown malts, citrus/earthy hops, and light fruity yeast flavors; with a nice roast/hop bitter/sweet balance; and minimal acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering hop/char bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, fairly sticky/chalky, and lightly resinous balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 9.5%. Overall this is an awesome imperial American porter! All around great dark/roast/brown malts, citrus/earthy hops, and light fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the big ABV, with the moderately bitter/drying finish. Not overly bitter/charred. Awesomely rich English dark/roast/brown malt complexity; with balanced citrus/earthy Amarillo hops against sweetness, and mild fruity yeast presence. A really enjoyable offering, and spot on style example as expected.
