DPA has risen to become one of the most award-winning English-style pale ales in the world. Sporting a brilliant copper hue and an assertive floral hop aroma, DPA is known for its smooth, malty middle, which is expertly complemented with hearty and complex hop flavor. DPA’s extraordinary hop finish is marked by crisp yet moderate hop bitterness.

Bottle. poured clear amber with lasting white head. Floral hoppy aroma. Hoppy taste, with malt tones. Faint finish, with a bit of bitterness. The finish is disappointing after the flavour build up.

Apple juice color, very cloudy with floating sediments. Aroma is orange, lemon, and feet. Grapefruit and lemon peel taste, but more of the latter. Alcohol is poorly concealed at the end. After suspecting I got an old or bad batch, I checked the date and discovered it is 4 years old. When fresh, this beer is probably much better than the one I just had. YMMV

Bottle: Pours amber/orange with a large beige head and thick lacing. Nose is mostly floral hops with a bit of citrus and pine. Tastes hop dominated with lots of floral and citrus hops. A light malt character. Good, but not memorable.

Bottle. Coppery coloration with a half inch head that is quickly fading. Aromas are of sweet malt with a bit of a floral hops presence. Flavor has a bitter bite to it that I wouldn’t have guessed given the sweet, caramel aromas. It has a somewhat silky mouthfeel and finishes with a nice bitter bite. Better than I hoped for.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy bronze color with a small yellow-white head. The aroma is strong piney and fruity hops. The flavor is strong piney and fruity hops with a peppery finish. There is a moderate malt base. The finish is bitter and hoppy.

Light amber color; huge, frothy head. Flowery and fruity hoppy aroma, gentle (sweet grapes, peach). Dry and light body structure; some malt, but metallic touch; bold bitterness, but with metallic resins. I tried it some other times and I liked it more…

Cloudy amber color; huge rocky head. Nice hoppy aroma. Reasonable malty body, strong bitterness, a bit astringent and metallic at the end. Average. Unbalanced.

Solid American ale. Nothing special, but good, consistent smooth taste. Carbonation makes it quite refreshing.

Crystal clear light copper color with nice off white foamy head. Excellent lacing. Solid pale malt aroma with some citrus hops to fill in the gaps. Rather pleasant malty aroma for a Pale. The taste is like chewing on freshly crushed 60L Crystal malts. Really fresh tasting. The hop bitterness is spot on for the style. Really good Pale Ale. One of the best I’ve had. Certainly better than I was expecting. It could have a bit more hops in the aroma but I’m really getting too critical.

Just like Titan, but this was just a little less hoppy. Therefore just a little less bitter. Quite lively. When am I gonna learn, I don’t like the bitterness of IPA? I probably won’t try another IPA again. I got three IPAs in my great divide variety pack. This is pretty hoppy and as a result, pretty bitter. IF, (and that’s a big IF), I could have seen what was in my variety pack, I would have picked something else. I hope I’m not raining on anyboby’s parade. Titan had the highest percent alky in the pack.

Bottle. Great flavor. Very grapefruity and full of other citrus flavors. Nice hop flavors and a great crisp finish.
