Ora Et Labora Cherry

Dark brown-ruby colour, tiny head. Aroma has cherry, tartness and light earthyness. Light to medium-bodied. Tart cherry, light earthy notes, some underlying sweetness. Decent.

Tap @ The Beer Station, 4.5%. Unclear red with small off white head. Aroma is malt, cherries, fruit and lemon. Flavour is malt, fruit, berries, cherries, medium sweet, citric, lemon and a little sour.

33cl Bottle. Hazy deep red colour, pink head. Aroma of funky cherries, cherry skin, light peppery, light acidity. Flavour is light funky, light acidic, a bit green/vegetal, cherries, light sour finish, ending bitter. Light bodied, over-carbonated. Not bad.

Dark red colour with massive foaming pink head. Aroma has sweet red fruit sugars with the cherry coming through well. Flavour is fairly mild. More cherry juice than cherry stone which is a good thing.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 29A). Bottle 33 cl - Batch L15018. AROMA: moderate cherry aroma with a very faint grainy malt presence. APPEARANCE: deep red color and just slightly hazy. large pink head with medium-low retention. TASTE: overall cherry flavour with a faint sweet background but with very faint hints of acidity. low bitterness with a dry finish. PALATE: medium-low to low body with medium-high carbonation. OVERALL: an interesting fruit beer that is an alternative to lambics but without much complexity.
