Legend tells of a mythical "peak" that the human brain can hit after a beer or two - atop this peak all tasks flow with creativity and ease. Computer programs come to life, musical symphonies are born... and delicious beer recipes are created. We worked with the scientific geniuses from Equilibrium Brewery on an all Citra-hopped triple IPA that represents the precarious wonder of this Ballmer Peak.

Pouring an eye catching golden yellow with a heavy milky haze, Ballmer Peak has an explosively aromatic nose revealing mouthwatering tones of mango nectar, pineapple slices, and vibrant orange peel. Ripe stone fruit flavors of apricot and peach build on the palate adding to a melange of tropical papaya, lime, melon and lychee. With a pillowy soft mouthfeel, pleasant biscuity sweetness, and rounded floral bitterness, Ballmer Peak is an open invitation to explore your own creativity.

Pours a wonderful hazy peach/mango from a can. Nice citrus aroma and flavor, but a little stone fruit as well. Pretty good beer.

Tap pour into goblet. Appearance is hazy, light brown/dark yellow with fair sparkle at the edges of the glass, thin cap of off-white head with poor retention and lacing. Aroma is very strong citrus---more orange than anything else--mild musty laundry, though not unpleasant. Taste is very strong juicy citrus, mild grapefruit. Palate is medium bodied with thick, grainy texture along with a creaminess--almost like a Good Humor creamsicle, though a different flavor--a tangy/spicy contribution, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, exceptional in the strength of aroma/flavor over complexity and varied palate is major contributor.

Enjoyed 22 days after canning. Pours a murky mustard yellow color with a small white-ish head. Aroma's of dank hops, honey, juicy fruit, oats. Retronasal it's very dank, resinous, sweetish, onion. Flavour is moderate bitter with some honey-ish sweetness and dank hops. Warming alcohol. Medium bodied. Moderate hopburn. Long finish, somewhat dry, dank and moderate bitter. Could do with a little less alcohol. (Double IPA would have been just fine). Still very nice.

16 oz. can, pours an opaque peachy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is quite yeasty, with plenty of dank hops, yeast soup, and biscuity malt. Flavour is wonderfully dank, with lots of dank, citrus hops, a touch of floral notes, and yeast soup. Not too yeasty -- the dankness and sweetness is very pleasant. Very good.

Kind of a murky-looking thing. No head. Lots of alcohol on the nose, and a fair bit of I guess hop extract or something. Quite sweet, low bitterness for the style. The hops are a bit of papaya sort of thing, so not bad.
