Our Russian Imperial Stout is pitch black in color with a faint tan head that immediately identifies this beer as BIG. Aromas of dark fruits, chocolate, caramel and roast also make it even bigger. Roasted coffee and fruity chocolate notes are just the beginning of this beers complex flavor. You have the right to enjoy or remain silent (ha, ha!)

Bottle shared with Vestergaard. Pours black with a thin dark mocca head. Aromas of slight booze, caramel and toffee. Taste is coffee, licorice, sweet dark berries, roast, light chocolate. Sadly a bit thin body.

Bottle. Almost black. Coffee, roast and chocolate in the aroma. Malty sweet, roasty flavor with ash, coffee and chocolate. Slightly salted. Moderate carbonation. Well balanced, tasty and aromatic.

09/07/2019 - draught glass shared with a colleague @Brewdog Brussels. Black colour, medium dark brown pearly head. Nose is roast, mocha, chocolate, bit caramel. Taste is roasted malts, coffee grounds, tad ashy, dark chocolate, caramel, ... Oh god, I really can't imagine how a non-flavoured or barrel ages stout can still be better. RAM, BAM, THANK YOU MAM!

355ml bottle. Black with a tan head. Aroma of roast malts, liquorice. Taste of roast malts, liquorice, dark malts, dark chocolate, caramel, sweet, hint of dark fruits. Medium-full body. Not particularly exciting but highly drinkable considering the ABV.

Sample from the bottle. Pitch black pour with a light brown head. Typical imperial stout profile. Dark and roasty flavor but the alcohol overwhelms the flavors. The 11% ABV is obvious and very distracting.

0.355 l bottle from 'Etre Gourmet', cellared for about two years. Pitch black with a thin, beige layer. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty aroma of dark chocolate, toasted nuts, some coffee and a touch of licorice. Quite sweet, malty, gently roasty taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, toasted nuts and a touch of dark fruits, followed by a medium long, gently roasty-bitter, earthy and a bit resiny finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Intense, superbly balanced, pleasant mouthfeel, just a very good RIS! I really liked the bourbon BA version but this is probably as good as a non-BA Stout can get.

A sampling acquired at a beer bar in the city center of Arnhem. It poured a chestnut brown with a decent medium tan head. The smell is chocolate and grain. I have a drink, dark chocolate, malt, some brown sugar sweetness. The taste cuts through the numbness of multiple tastings. Nice.
