Bottle at home. Dark brown color with a nice dark red glare coming through when held into the light. Aroma is malts, roasted malts. Flavor is malts, brown malts, malt bitter but also a light malt sweetness in there. Nice easy drinkable English style stout.

Deep black and a nice tan head. Nice roasted malts, dark coffe and a nice dry-hoppy balance. Quite good.

50cl bottle at home (22 V 2020), as The Crafty Brewing Company Irish Stout. A towering orange-cassonade-beige-brown frothy collar tops a pitch black unclear brew with some faint reddish gloom. This is a good looking stout for me. The nose has keen yet somewhat restrained coffee tones, with underlying malt and caramel flavours. There is some roast in there as well, together with smoke and liquorice and perhaps few ox blood, raisins and moccha. Lingering here and there are the faint earthy dashes, coming from the branded malts. The mouthfeel is surprisingly well balanced. This is classic dry stout with a beautiful coffee bean backbone. The first sip has some herbs in there as well, but the body swiftly adds caramel and dark chocolate (maybe some milk chocolate, even) - although none of these features are sugary or over sweetened. This is not a strong bodied ale, high in alcohol. It rather is a decent, earth-like coffee bitter with restrained qualities. This Irish stout comes as 'a charmingly smooth stout with roast coffee & chocolate notes' and this is no disappointment whatsoever. I like the refreshing iced coffee feel and the roast and caramel hints, without the brew becoming a sweet tooth. Some tar, black coal, raisins and walnuts make up for a lovely dry-ish finish. This is such a great treat.
