Backlog. Brownish black colour with a "cola" kind of ruby element to it and a small beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, some mild toasted and chcolaty tones with a bit lactose to it as well. Flavour is quite similar to the aroma. Sweetish, but also nicely toasted. Like a Dunkel meeting a stout.

On tap at the Abbot's Alehouse, Cork. Dark amber to dark brown colour. Small creamy off-white head. Mild roasty and coffee aroma. Coffee flavour, roasty, burnt, ash, light roasty bitterness. Smooth, creamy, drinkable, dry finish, but a bit too thin.

Pours a very-near black, darkest brown. Medium small, off-white head thats very stable. Scent is roasty, toffee, milder coffee, hints of aged chocolate. Taste is surprisingly bitter. Fairly smooth body - tad sticky (toffee) in the finish though, which I'm not to fond of. Roasty, burnt coffee, hints of low-quality, aged pure chocolate. Meidum carbonation. Medium body. Pretty boring, but nothing majorly off.

Bottle 50cl. from a local Lidl @home pured into a glass tankard. Opaque ruby brown colour, good creamy tan head, half-way lasting, heavy lacing. Aroma roased malts, cocoa powder, coffee, liquorice. Taste medium sweet and bitter, quite dry, roasted malt, coffee, bit chocolate, dark caramel, grainy notes, Medium body, watery to oily texture, soft carbonation, dry malty bitterweet aftertaste, some coffee and chocolate, cardboard notes, well-made and tasty stout, quite a surprise from Lidl, a dry stout as it should be, very good.
