Bottle courtesy of tokyobeerdrinker. Thanks Neil! Pours a clearish gold with a finger of white foam that lingers. This was almost like 2 different beers in the glass. The first half was very Belgian pale ale like with nice crackery malt, pepper and light clove aromas. The 2nd half of the glass was murkier with creamy lactose and coffee mixed together. A bit weird, but has it's good points as well.

Subtle coffee, bit of sweetness, reminds of the Shiga trunk beer. Second time, Caramel. Bit of a Belgian feel. Like it!

Tap at Keyaki Autumn 2019. Deep, cloudy orange, with lace. Spicy nose with coffee and green peppers and chili peppery. Spicy and sour with chili peppery and spicy. Weird one. Nothing like a donut. Not so good either.

On tap in Tokyo. Pours a golden hue with a medium white head. A big coffee and citrus nose. Basically a golden coffee ale, some bready sweet doughnut flavors.. the base yeast sort of adds a unique element. Good.

Shiga Kogen x Upright 5% Coffee & Donuts 12.5 IBU Farmhouse Ale with Coffee Orange mellow color with a fast dissipating fizzy head and a big coffee aroma that’s rich and for some reason chocolatey to me... Full slick bodied with a raspy mouthfeel and a zesty coffee flavor with hints of caramel. Tasty.

Tap @ iBREW Shimbashi. Was expecting a dark beer for some reason but it's not! Creamy orange with lots of haze and some white foam on the top. Nose has a hint of coffee, otherwise quite fruity, freshly pressed apple juice. Taste has more of that coffee, quite mild and well balanced with sweetness. Donuts if you will. Interesting combination, unique and seems to actually work. Light roast coffee in the linger.

wow, maybe the name tripped me up but the coffee character is very present, and in the backbone it’s kinda this weird doughy donut character. It’s a bit too yeasty to show donuts clearly but it’s really unique and comes as close to a coffee donut Saison as I could imagine. Low carbonation funky mouth. This roasted coffee flavor lingers Super different but love it.
