The festive season just wouldn't be the same without this specialty beer whose arrival is always long-awaited. Produced with three different types of malt made from French-grown barley and three varieties of the most aromatic hops from Alsace, this top fermented, unpasteurized beer, a dense head and is darker than the traditional amber beer, its torrefied undertones are reminiscent of flowers, caramel and had a hint of orange.

Beery Christmas #18. Pours dark red with a nice head. Looks nice. Aroma is barely existent, some caramel. Medium body. Flavour is extremely bland. Some malt and caramel, quite bitter, but not tasty, some spices. Call it a winter ale all you want, this is not christmasy nor does it have a lot of ale characteristics. Tastes more like a bad spiced lager. Not recommended.

Bottle from Beery Christmas advent calendar. Pours almost clean deep amber, some beige foam on top, coming down slowly. Nose has watery caramel, tap water and light toffee rowan fruitiness. Taste is not sweet, feels infected somehow but cannot really put my finger on it exactly. Light creamy bitterness, also in the finish. Drinks actually OK but as a beer has no character whatsoever.

330mml bottle as part of the Beery Christmas 2017. Tasted on the 18/12/2017 at home. Clear amber colour with an off-white head. Aroma of grains, grass, caramel and malts. Taste is grass and cereals. Slightly bitter finish. Next one please!
