The original Piraat beer, launched in 1988 as a kind of pale version of Gulden Draak Classic (with the same yeasts).
From the brewery's website:

33cl bottle. Pours amber gold, medium clarity, with very fine white foam. Aroma is yeasty and alcoholic, honey and herbaceous, orange peel. Body is fairly dense, with average carbonation. Taste is fairly bitter, but with an annoying and unbalanced alcoholic feeling. Final is fairly long, yeasty and alcoholic.

0.33 l bottle from local 'LIDL', bottled in March 2021. Clear, deep amber with a medium large, foamy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, quite yeasty-spicy, gently fruity-floral aroma of banana, clove, honey, vanilla and light citrus. Quite sweet, malty, rather yeasty-spicy, moderately fruity-floral taste of banana, clove, nutmeg, honey, some vanilla and light citrus, followed by a medium long, fairly yeasty-spicy, quite bitter, gently boozy finish. Medium body, quite effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Heavy Belgian sipper, nicely yeast-forward and bitter, not too boozy.

Fles thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een licht troebel goudgeel bier met een dun wit schuim. Het heeft een gistachtige geur. De smaak is moutig, tarweachtig met tonen van koriander.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt and yeast, with fruity and floral touches and hints of hops. Bitter, hoppy flavour with fruity and malty notes and estery and floral touches. Bitter, hoppy aftertaste. Warming alcohol presence. A very nice BSA.

Huge thanks to WillemsUrenkel for that one! Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, huge head. Starts malty, alcoholic, some soapy-fruity notes, some lemon. Light woody touch. Some notes of a dry white wine. Finish well balanced, alcoholic spicy-malty. Not bad.

Bottle online from Belgiuminabox. Pours a light golden/copper colour with a large foamy off-white head. Aromas of bananas, cloves, caramel, toffee, doughy bread and candied sugar. Taste has more of the same notes detected in the aroma with added fruity tones, very spicy with also a touch of candy and a bittersweet finish. Very nicely balanced. Lots of flavour. Full body with a smooth slightly oily mouthfeel. Alcohol well hidden. Great beer.

This certainly has a kick to it! Pours a clear pale gold, with a frothy white head, and candy sugar sweetness and a hint of banana on the nose. The taste is pale malt and sweet white wine-like, it's medium bodied with moderate carbonation and a boozy character that lasts into the finish.

330ml bottle from Lidl. My first in this style and the highest ABV I have drank to date from a beer. Light brown colour, moderate white head, good lacing. Aroma of malts, grain, sweet sugars, yeasty banana and alcohol; yep this is a beast! Taste is malty, raisons, fruity banana yeast and spice. The later two extends to the finish with an increasing sweetness and a good strong bitterness and alcohol; wow. Moderate body, short sharp carbonation before softening adds to the experience. Lovely.
