THE HOLIDAYS AT TRÖEGS START WITH our inner Mad Elf momentarily taking over the brew deck. So blame “him” for this cheerful ruby red creation reminiscent of ripened cherries, raw honey and cocoa with notes of cinnamon, clove and allspice.

Bottle at ROC. Fruity and spicy nose, caramel and chocolate. Deep amber orange with a low thick head. Flavor is cherry, burnt caramel, orange, Belgian yeast spice. Not too sweet or heavy.

Freshest by June 21st 2024. From Beer Drop.

Pours a clear deep amber with a small head of foam, very little lacing.

The smell is Belgian spices, yeast, cherries, more spices.

The taste is yeasty, cloves, cherries both tart and sweet (honey), massive spiciness, heat from the alcohol, big big flavours, not all of them to my liking. Especially the allspice and cloves.

Medium bodied, good carbonation.

I have another can that will be sitting for a while.

Pours reddish brown with a big oily head. Aroma of tart cherry juice, some nutty aromas. Taste has cherry juice, stone fruits, some spices, nutmeg, sweet mellifluous notes. Palate has more honey intermixed with tart fruit notes, along with some cocoa and toasted nuts. Fascinating.

The honey and cherry balance out the booziness quite nicely.

(Thanks, Jeremy! JStax) Bottle. A- Cherries, honey, mild spice. A- Dark red color, dark liquid, tan head. T- Honey, cherries, raisins, candi syrup, nutmeg, booze. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, malty finish. O- Pretty boozy even as aged as it was. A real winter warmer. Actually detected a lot of cherry and honey and the spices were subtle which was appreciated. Not bad.
