Brewed with well water (the original well at the Old Brewery, sunk in 1758, is still in use, with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground); best barley malt, yeast and aromatic hops; fermented in ‘stone Yorkshire squares’ to create a relatively dry ale with rich nutty colour and palate of beech nuts, almonds and walnuts.

Bottle 0,55ltr: Pretty good Brown ale, slightly roasted taste, some sweetness and hints of caramel.

Pours a dark ruby red, brown with a medium retention head. Not much on the nose: malts, nutty, hint of caramel. Same on the mouth: dark malts mostly some nuttiness. Fitting carbonation. Not that exciting: good maltiness but not much else. Balanced but a bit watery. Very drinkable. Could have done with more sweetness or more hop flavour.

355ml bottle at Taps Beer Bar, Changkat, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a murky medium brown colour with a lasting frothy off-white head. The aroma is herbal, nutty, light caramel. The flavour is moderate to light sweet, with a smooth, toffee caramel, earthy, light liqourice bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

355ml bottle into glass. At Bailiwicks, Orleans Casino Las Vegas. Copper coloured beer with small sticky head. Nose is English hops, taste is very similar. Gorgeous nutty chocolate finish, I can't believe I haven't reviewed this before. Excellent.
