This stout looks like soft dookie and some will say it smells and tastes like it too. If you like a thick, creamy and utterly vanillalicious stout you’ll like this one. If you don’t, get yourself something else instead.

From a 330ml bottle on 12/8/2016 (bottle labeled Soft DK). Pours close to black with a small dark tan head. Has a relatively light aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and a bit of soy. The flavour is primarily sweet chocolate, some vanilla, a little warming spice and a moderate roasty bitterness. Has a relatively creamy texture and moderate carbonation. More than decent, but Evil Twin make some much better beers.

Tap at Craft & Draft. Black with tan head. Lots of toastjes notes, deep red wine, dark chocolate, strong red berries, fudge, some more sweet chocolate. Over medium sweet, medium bitter and light sour. Over medium bodied with soft creamy feel.

Sampled from tap at ’Beertemple’. Pitch black with a medium large, creamy, light brown head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty aroma of milk chocolate, milk coffee, hazelnut and some vanilla. Sweet-malty, slighly roasty taste of milk chocolate, milk coffee, hazelnut and som vanilla, followed by a medium long, moderately roasty-bitter finish. Full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very good!

33cl bottle. Pitch black pour with a medium height espresso-coloured head with modest retention. Smells like dark cherries, roasted malts, chocolate, coffee. Smooth-ish mouthfeel, full bodied, with notes of roasted coffee, roasted malts, tons of dark chocolate and cocoa, a bit of smoke and cherries.

Bottle (from beergium). Pours dark brown-black with light brownish head. Aroma is dark chocolate, malt, roast, alcohol, fruits. Flavor is sweet and bitter, cocoa, malt, roast. Finish is roast bitter. Overall: very good.

Bottle as Soft DK. Black color with small beige head. Aroma is sweet milk chocolate, some raisins. Taste is raisins, chocolate, iron, liver, some vanilla. Quite light for the ABV, so the ABV is definitely well-hidden. Still good. Not excellent for a ImpStout.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with medium beige head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is strong roast coffee, chocolate, toasted malt. Thick mouth, chewy, roasted malt, chocolate, boozy finish, very good.
