35cl Blik van De Laat. Oranje-amber kleur, witte kraag. Mandarijntjes, citrusschil, licht moutig, hint van grapefruit, medium bittere finish. Lichte body.

Beer-shop.it 30.05.20

Canned April 16th 2019.
Smells kinda old school. Lots of bitter grapefruit citrus, some grass, hidden malt presence that I would say is toasted.
Taste is also old school. Grapefruit citrus is mighty bitter, grass and some light pine, toasted malt that adds? a mild sweetness. This is quite bitter.
Good mouthfeel. Good satisfying IPA.

Crisp, fairly hazy golden coloured body with a nice, three centimetre tall rich pure white head. Aroma of very dank and grassy hops with a light note of flowers, light grain, a dose of caster sugar and some hints of citrus fruits (grapefruits and lemon) on the tail end. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong grassy and floral bite with a light bitterness from the hops, but incredibly flavourful and very drying. Some of the malt components come out towards the end, but the ending profile is grassy and a bit fruity from the citrus notes. Aftertaste is robust, very clean and dry, but packing a smooth profile. The malt shows through, and the hops provide a nice balance, but the fruits are very nice for the tail end and the finish. Overall, a solid 'typical' IPA with a great dry profile that almost hits like a 'brut', but it's slightly hazy glow and light sweetness make this more of a 'Plain' IPA in a good way! I sampled this twenty ounce pour on draught at SmashBurger in Denver (Airport), Colorado on 18-June-2019 for US$10,00. S
