almost black colour, moderate sized dense beige head; aroma of coffee, peated notes, some whisky, anise, vanilla and herbal notes, some dark chocolate and dried fruits; taste of coffee, dark chocolate, peated whisky and ash notes, dried plum, maybe sour cherry, too, herbal liqueur and some syrupy notes; excellent imperial stout

Bottle from the Bier Koning, Amsterdam. Poured a dark brown colour with a frothy long lasting tan head. The aroma is rich roasty malt, alcohol, sweet dark chocolate, coffee. The flavour is moderate sweet with a smooth rich fruity, burning alcoholic bitter, light spicy palate. Full bodied with flat carbonation.

Bottle. Dark creamy pour. Aroma of mild peated malt, soft roast, cacao and mocha. Taste has mild peat, dark fruit, chocolate, smoke, smooth booze and some roasted malt. Well balanced and tasty.

Bottle shared. Black with a medium thick tan head. Aroma of big peat, scotch, dark chocolate, smokey notes, coffee, malt, woody barrel notes and caramel. Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Full bodied with a thick texture and soft carbonation. [14-09-2016]
