As "Hitachino Commemorative Ale 2014".330 ml bottle thanks to Ingo! Brewed 12-2013, BB 12-2014, sampled on April 18, 2014. Marked 8% ABV.Hazy copper color, big lasting off-white head. Sweet, spicy, orange peel, citrus, alcohol, light phenolic scent. Alcohol, sweet, citrus, sugary, pine, spicy taste. Sweet, alcohol aftertaste. Medium to smooth to fizzy mouthfeel, low bitterness.Alcohol comes through a bit too much, more than noticeable and also dominates the sweetness, probably would’ve liked it better personally with a bigger malt body or a lower ABV, still, not bad at all, just coul’ve been even better (for me).

Bottle. As Commemorative Ale 2011, 8% ABV. Amber with a fading light beige head. Aroma of old ginger, vanilla, oranges, cinnamon, an unusual wheaty/ leafy doughiness. Quite sweet with lots of spices (menthol?) and balancing bitterness. Hides the alcohol very well. Tastes rather less intriguing than it smells.

Bottle 11.2fl.oz. [ As Hitachino Nest Commemorative Ale ].[ Trade by Alex420 ]. Clear medium amber orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caramel, sweet malt, moderate yeasty, sweet bubble gum, spicy, coriander, nutmeg. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, peppery, candy - bubble gum sweet. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110408]
