Bottle from Etre Gourmet. It pours hazy bright orange with a quickly dissipating white head. The aroma is funky, bright, juicy, zingy, apricot, persimmon, nectarine, rhubarb and a touch of vanilla. The taste is crisp, dry, tart, good mouth - pucker, sour apricot, persimmon, good funk, barnyard, wet hay, bright, zingy, sherbety, minerality and a bit of rhubarb with a dry finish. Medium body and high, foany carbonation bright, fruity and funky. Not a huge amount of depth, but it is highly drinkable.

Bottle shared at Foeders. Slight hazy light golden with fizzy white head. Looks nice! Soft funky rhubarb smell. When sipping there’s quite some apricot, funk, soft hay, mineral funk, light grains, peach, soft rhubarb, light herbal. Just medium sour, very light sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with sparkly carbonation and light dry finish. Really good.

New experiment by De Cam, served from non-labelled 'blank' bottles at Lambiekstoempers' annual beerfestival last week. Lambic with apricot and rhubarb, seems like a fine combination to me. Very thick and foamy head (hard to pour even), egg-white and very densely creamy and stable, over a hazy yellow straw blonde beer with somewhat greenish hue and 'champenoise' sparkling. Aroma of raw green rhubarb stems, dusty haystack, unripe apricot, green apple, chalk, sour yoghurt, kefir, raw wood sorrel, stale sweat. Crisp and bright onset, pronounced oxalic acid from the rhubarb matching well with the lambic's basic sourness and actually enhancing its quenching abilities, notes of lemon and sour grapes but far less apricot than rhubarb, prickly carbonation, tart 'parcours' of sourish basic wheatiness, soft and 'young' lambic tartness and oxalic rhubarb acidity with a notable chalk-like aspect persisting throughout the whole palate. Only in the end, a deeply 'buried' sweetish touch hints at the apricots, as if to remind one that rhubarb is not the only star here, before going into medium tannic woody notes and drying, 'brut' lambic sourness, with that chalky note still hanging around. Extremely refreshing 'summer' lambic, I'd have no difficulties at all chugging down a whole 75 cl bottle of this - even if at 7.5% ABV, this is above average in strength for its style. I am left wondering what mister Goddeau is planning with this one, hopefully it will appear in bottled form on the shelves of beer specialist shops one day.

Bottle pour at De Lambikstoempers Bierweekend. Nose is apricot mostly, seems not completely fermented out, like the fresh Fou’foune. Grapefruit, a bit of rhubarb. Lovely. Pale orange, very cloudy, with a lacy, low, head. Sweet apricot flavor, tart but not bracingly sour, some but not a ton of rhubarb and not vegetal at all. Spritzy and champagne-like. Dry but only lightly osur. REally excellent and unique.
