Tap at ibrew. Ultra pale, loads of salt, feels like Margerita-style round the rim. Wheaty and with a bit of the Belgian Kyoto character in the background. Hint of lemon. Not so good. Bit of a mess.

Very pale cloudy color. A bit salty sour and low hop nose. Nice sour refreshing balanced. Light and souring. Pretty damn good take on goze. Impressive

Tap at Komachi. Pale golden color with a low head. Citrus nose, light wheat, light acid. Light, lemony flavor, I sense a bit of salt but maybe it’s in my mind. Clean, light tartness. Moving in the right direction but comes off as a bit plain.

Ushitora & Kyoto Gose 4.4% 6 IBU On tap at CBB Bud. a cloudy very pale gold with a wisp of a white head. The aroma is tart wheaty lemon with some sourness. The taste is tart lime & grapefruit, wheat, soda bread and it has a pretty dry finish on the light body. A cut above the usual Ushitora brews. Nice enough stuff.

Tap at Ushi-Tora 2. Glowing straw color with almost no carbonation and a tiny white film of head. Lemonade and wheat on the nose. Close to flat carbonation on the palate with a nice light and refreshing character. Some light tartness in the finish with a touch of salt at the end of the glass. Good, but more carbonation might have been nicer. Maybe a more traditional gose I suspect, but does anyone really know what that means anyway. --- Beer merged from original tick of #078 / Kyoto Brewing Kyoto Jihen on 01 Apr 2016 at 19:19 - Score: 6. Original review text: Lemonade like tartness. Soft carbonation. Creamy, yogurty on the palate. Feels a little flat in the finish. Salt only in the last sip.
