Bottle from Tanakaya. Pours a slightly cloudy golden straw with a small head. Very yeast-forward nose with lemon, nutmeg, white pepper and some fruity esters. Light bodied with average carbonation. Not overly sweet and no weird off flavors. Slightly tart. Dry finish. A very nice wit. --- Beer merged from original tick of White Ale on 27 Apr 2016 at 20:25 - Score: 7. Original review text: Nice wit nose with lemony yeast on the nose. Wheat on the palate but lightly funky. Decent enough.

460 yen bottle from Yamaoka. A cloudy gold with a thin filmy head. A nice fruity, slightly spicy aroma. The taste is wheat, cardboard and cloves on a somewhat thick body. Ok but needs more work to be good. Not too refreshing the finish is very dry, somewhat club soda like. We were thirsty and wanted to be sated not made thirstier.

Sampled at Sapporo harvest festival 2009. Burned peach aroma. Cloudy yellow. Light body, wood, burned grass. A bit boring.

Draught at Eni-bru. Pale gold color. Thin head. Wheat malt, banana, low-to-medium spicing and additives. Nice balance of sour, banana, spice. Good wheat flavor. Not really exciting, but decent. Seems to be missing something...

Draught at Eni-bru, Osaka (as Onidentetsu White Ale). Lightly hazy golden, minimal head. Juicy lemon and coriander up front. Slim and citric with lime and wheat malt. Well drinkable but a bit void7syrupy towards the end.
