Part of a flight at the brewpub on 12th August 2025. Clean amber body, off white crown. Malty with an earthy hop bite, light citrus flavours arrive late on. Nice take on an English ESB.

On tap at Devil's Elbow. Pours cleae gold with a white head. Lots of pine and resins on the nose. Flavour has tons of pine and bitter resins. I wouldn't have necessarily guessed that this is a bitter, it's well-done regardless.

0.473l can, courtesy of CanCrusher. Aroma of caramel, dried fruit and flowers. Pours clear brown amber color with large soapy off-white head and sparkling appearance. Taste starts moderate sweet toasted malt and caramel, following is herbal, medicinal and dried fruity, mouthfeel is smooth, while finish is dry and bitter. Medium body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Naughty by nature…

Good foam on a copper body, smells of hops mostly with very vague bready malt hints in the right setting. Flavour is plenty of chewy malt with soft hop notes. Finish is very nice, good oiliness mixed with malt sweetness. Very fine, kind of strong for an ESB but they manage to pull it off well.

I was skeptical an ESB could be rated so highly but this beer definitely exceeds the common ESB. Pours dark amber with good fluff of head. Potpourri and some citrus. Light bitter end. Bomber.

Can from The Beerhive. Clear amber body with a thin off-white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of caramel, weak coffee and fig. Flavour of wood and peppery rye. Medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. A classy beer. It’s nice to have a hoppy beer that’s not an IPA or a DIPA.

Bottle from my best buddy in Vancouver. Aroma is barely noticeable. Glorious ale colour. Taste is well hoppy. I can't help but feel I'm drinking an APA. It is an aggressively hopped bitter and sure it's very nice but is it what I want in an ESB I dunno...
