Porter fermented with Brett.

Playing off the English bent of our Baltimore brothers Oliver Ales, this Old World Porter brings a little bit of the Stillwater funk to the party. Drink it and don’t feed the vultures.

22oz bottle. Massive, loud, foamy, beige head. Really seems like an infected Porter, but I will go ahead and assume it is intentional. There is some nice Porter underneath there somewhere, but thinned and soured and leathered...kind of fades it. Has enough specialty malt to carry it some, not as devolved as most dark sour beers. I was really excited about this style a long time ago when NG Old World Porter first dropped, but this is kind of a chore to drink. Leathery, overcarbonated. Pretty much an infected Porter. Infected aroma gets quite bad after awhile.

Bottled. Dark brown, rich firm head. Funky cobewebs and licorice up front. Dry with medium body and clean, spritzy mouthfeel. Funky and grassy, minerally with some licorice. Resinous mid bitter finish. OK.

Brett Porter shared at KBC. Big deep brown with a crazy huge beige head. Huge chocolate cocoa powder and sweet Brett aroma. Very dry, light with prominent notes of tobacco and tootsie roll. Strange but OK.

Aroma’s like a traditional regular Porter. Flavors the same way except for I can pick up a little of the Brett in the Finish. It’s a decent enough beer but nothing to write home about.

Bomber. Big foamy, infection like bubbly head atop a dark brown body. Aroma follows the theme with a cherry sourness atop a roast and light beer. This is where I have my biggest issues. I don’t like the combo of sourness and roast. It’s a light beer that emphasizes those two aspects, very well indeed. However, it’s really something I dislike. Flavor is similarly clean light roast with a light sour cherry finish. The cherry is much stronger on the nose.
