L’intensità olfattiva è normale e la persistenza olfattiva sufficiente. Il cappello di schiuma resiste poco, a bassa carbonazione e bollicine di media grandezza. La consistenza del liquido è limpida. La frizzantezza è data da bollicine fini a carbonazione abbondante, persistente ed insistita. Il colore è giallo dorato brillante. Il corpo è rotondo. Il dolce medio quasi sovrasta l’amaro percettibile. L’intensità gustativa è normale e la persistenza gustativa è sufficiente. Il gusto è piacevole. Le sensazioni boccali finali sono di facile beva. Il finale è dissetante e semplice. Il retrogusto è di media intensità. In bocca arrivano sentori di miele, pane, fiori.

Bottle in Prague-CZ at the Beergeek pub with Mowbeer. Pours a golden clear color with a white adhesive head. Nose: lavender-jasmine flowers, melon, summer fruit. Mouth: frizzy palate and finish, malty character, small hops presence but well-done.

4 oz pour on draft at ChurchKey, consumed on 9/11/2015. Clear golden straw yellow with off-white head. Aromas of hay, floral notes, wheat. Tastes of citrus, floral notes, hay, wheat. Medium-light body with a dry finish.

Tap. I waited till I could try it at the source. Pours crystal clear golden, small creamy off white head, nice lacing. Aroma is light, Bready, grass, grain. Flavor has a hint of sweetness, light plus bitterness, fresh baked bread, field grass, hints of honey, some grain. Medium body, soft mouthfeel. Solid for style.

Bottle in pint glass from Downtown Discount Beverage, Dover NH. Aroma is bready malt with yeasty dough, leather and basement, mild burnt herbs. Appearance is clear pale yellow with greenish tinge (a little urine-like) with persistent but mild sparkle and small head with fair persistence and mild lacing. Taste is medium bitter and sour. Palate is medium bodied with oily texture with lively carbonation and long very dry finish. Overall, an interesting smelling beer with capable other aspects. A good offering for the style.

Classic American craft lager, I assume this was a bold reaction against the culture of bland mass-marketed pale lagers at the time. Bottle bought at GBBF and consumed at home. Medium sized, yellowish white, regularly shaped head, colour a deep and bright yellow golden, clear with quiet sparkling. Lovely American hops aroma, impressions of lemon zest, starfruit, yellow grapefruit, field flowers, fresh cucumber, hint of pine resin, unripe pineapple, even a touch of lavender, white bread. Crisp, clean onset, minerally fizz but refined, smooth honeyish malt sweetishness, touch bready, shifting to a relatively long hoppy finish, very aromatic with delicate citrus peel and flower notes, very subtle salty edge but most of all deeply bittering and drying the throat in a non-agressive, elegant way. Must have been one of the first ’IPLs’ (India pale lager), the kind of ’boutique Pilseners’ delicately hopped with IPA hops and thus making a statement that pale lager is able to achieve great finesse as well. Lovely, almost ’feminin’ kind of graciousness, this is the kind of pale lagers that should be a lot more on the foreground in craft beer culture.

(Keg at Konttori, Tampere, 20150808) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had grass and grain, both mild. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, grass, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was grassy and bitter. A harsh pils.
