Malty, Roasty and Deceptively Smooth. It's an easy-drinking malty Copper Ale that goes easy on the hops. Originally called the Kronik, this beer was censored by the federal label-approving agency, the BATF — they claimed the word had some sort of Marijuana reference. We slapped a “Censored” sticker on it as a joke and they accepted it. Whatever. Net contents: Ounces and ounces of Malt, Hops, Yeast and water.

Clear copper golden color with a thick off white head. Nice lacing. Looks really inviting. Mostly a caramel malty aroma with some faint dried fruits in the back. Medium + body. Tad sweet and a fine bitterness. Average carbonation. Toffee, caramel malty and dried fruits. Nothing wrong with this one. Just plain and a bit boring.

Bottle from Harvest Market Deep copper color rich caramel light sulfur. Big sweet caramel maltiness with little to counter. Needs more hops imho.

From a 355ml bottle on 1/2/2015. Pours a deep copper with a small head. has a very big caramel malt aroma with some light fruity, floral hop notes. Flavour wise, it piles on sweet caramel malt, with some nuttiness in the mix as well. There’s a light to medium hop bitterness which balances the malt sweetness quite nicely. Light bodied with average carbonation. Really nicely put together and very pleasant drinking.

Kopparfärgad, blommig doft a la engelsk humle, kraftig maltstruktur med karamell, vanilj och ek. Rejäl efterbeska/eftersmak som drar åt det blommigallet. En ESB med rejäl beska som håller ihop smakerna. Riktigt god

Bottle, 10C. Clear pale amber with an inch of white head. Aroma of toffee with some earthy and spicy notes, vague citrus. Some peach and orange peel too. Sweetish and quite fruity with stone fruit and caramel, dryish finish with grapefruit creeping up a fair bit. Like a very strong bitter. Caught between three stools really: too strong to be sessionable; too hoppy to let any richness of the malt shine; too sweet for the hops to sing. But it’s OK.

(Bottle, 0.355 l - BBE 0915, at Viisi Penniä, 20141121) The beer poured deep amber and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had caramel, sweetness, molasses and fruitiness. Palate was rather full bodied and a little bit sticky with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, grass, caramel, molasses, sweetness, malts and bitter. Aftertaste had sweetness, caramel and bitterness. A too sweet but otherwise good malty brew.

355ml bottle @ OlutExpo 2014

Pours dark orange with a small head. Aroma of malts, caramel, toffee and bready notes. Taste is smooth, malty and caramely with sweet toffee, grainy notes and hints of hops. Finish is sweet, malty and caramely with notes of toffee and grainy notes. A bit stuffy and too heavy on malty notes. Not very fresh.
