Amber, the original cider, was first hand-filled in our two-car garage back in 1991, delivering a medium body, sweet red apple taste and golden hue.

Pours clear pale yellow into a shaker. Bright white head with little retention mottles and recedes to nothing. Crisp apple aromas. Soft with front to back sour apple and a lasting sweet crusty finish.

Sampled from a 12 oz green bottle this beer poured a fizzy dark amber color with a trace white head that faded instantly. The aroma was strongly sweet and tangy apple with a hint of spice. The flavor was tart and strongly sweet apple with faint cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish was long, tart and sweet apple. Medium body. Well done.

On tap and in bottle rating for bottle (on tap a little better). Pours a light golden color with little head. The head and the carbonation dissapates quickly. Almost no lacing. Taste is malty apple cider. Not really beer, but the women may go for this one.

12 oz. bottle from Jewel supermarket. Smells more of freshly cut apple slices than apple juice. Pour shows apple color, some fizziness, but Iβm sure we didnβt expect a head here. Taste is rather average, Iβve basically got just apple juice with some fizz and alcohol kick. Itβs quite nice, however, certainly something I could drink a lot of, and quickly, it seems. I donβt pick up any artificial flavors or additives. Just an indistinguishable blend of sweet apple juice.

Overall Impression: I'm certainly not going to go overboard attacking this one or anything, I think it's OK for a cider, not great, but not terrible, but I actually prefer some of Woodchuck's other offering more then this one. It servers its purpose, but at the same time, I rarely find myself wanting one of these...

Bottle: Light amber pour with no head. Aroma is apple with a hint of some tartness. More of a traditional apple and sweet/tart cider taste here. One of the better ciders from my sample pack.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow to orange with a fully gone head. Vague mouldy aroma with a mild apple note coming through. Quite sweet apple flavoured with a very mild phenolic note. Sweetfruity finish with a light acidic touch. Main impression is a sweet cider though. Why they call it amber I dont get. Nice one.
