An extremely rich and complex beer. The addition of raspberries during the fermentation process results in an almost purplish opaque color with a beautiful brown head. Warm chocolate and roasty notes compliment the hop bitterness.

Bottle. Very dark brown, thick beige head, good retention, solid lacing. Aroma of bourbon hits you from across the room. After the initial impression itβs mostly the blueberries that are prominent. Taste is chocolate covered blueberries with an edge of warming whiskey that comes in late. Very nice.

22 oz. bottle, pours a dark brown / black with a medium beige, foamy head. Aroma of light raspberries, a Belgian-like candied sugar quality, Flavour of fairly prominent alcoholized raspberries and candied sugar, layered over a roasted malt and chocolate cake base. A bit of a metallic and burnt aftertaste, leaving the raspberries behind. Watery body, with not much depth. Not so good, and certainly overpriced at more than $10 per 22 oz.

Draught, World of Beer Dadeland. Nearly black and with a thick head. Chocolatey imperial stout nose with a very light raspberry. Some bitterness and chocolate, and a little bit of raspberry. Light body for the style, maybe more of a foreign stout.

Bottle from Beverages 4 Less in Santee, CA. Pours black with a 4 finger creamy tan head. Smells like raspberries and burnt malt. Near full bodied. It starts fairly creamy. Flavor is raspberry and burnt malt, which is harshly bitter, and goes a bit ashy. There seems to be a little bit of dark chocolate mixed in. Iβm thinking this is underrated. It finishes raspberry chocolate - with a following ash note. Itβs so strongly flavored that I think the taste buds surrender and ignore the initial harsh aspects.

Pours purply black with a clingy three finger pink/tan head. Strange head color. Aromas of dark berries and chocolate. Flavor is mixed berry with chocolate. Very tasty beer. Coffee shows up strongly in the finish. Excellent. One of the best BA IS Iβve tasted. A beer you could drink til you die.
