An extremely rich and complex beer. The addition of raspberries during the fermentation process results in an almost purplish opaque color with a beautiful brown head. Warm chocolate and roasty notes compliment the hop bitterness.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks eyes_wide_shut and YK23. Dark brown to black with a beige to light brown head. Roasty aroma with some coffee, dark chocolate, a bit of raspberry notes and alcohol notes. Bittersweet roasty flavor with chocolate and some raspberry juice. Medium to full-bodied. Quite pleasant.

Bottle at a Chriso tasting, London. Pours dark brown with a creamy, beige head. Subtle chocolate and raspberry in the aroma. Big sweet flavor with moderate roast, dirt, nice chocolate-coated raspberries. Full in body with average carbonation. Good, chocolatey finish with nice raspberry integration, moderate earthy hops, some dirt. Good balance. I like it.

The ChrisO small midweek tasting. Clear dark red beer, big pale tan head. Light palate, semi soft. The dark malts are light and creamy and the mild raspberry is well integrated. Drinks below itβs abv. Nice.

Bottle at Chriso - 25/09/12. Sorry - canβt remember who brought this one but thanks all the same! Dark chestnut brown with a very thin tan head. Alcohol hits you on the nose from the off allied to a certain nuttiness, raspberry, roast malt and other dark fruit tones. Taste follows nose, roasted malts become more apparent still getting the raspberries and a little chocolate come into play. Higher end of medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Drinkable but not really my idea of an imperial stout, a little to light and fruity.

Bottle at ChrisO. It pours very dark brown, with a thin beige head. The nose is roasted malt, bitter chocolate, sweet berry, raspberry yoghurt, jam and treacle. The taste is roasted malt, dark fruit, sweet berry, ash, raspberry yoghurt and light acidic notes, with a bitter, roasty finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Not bad.

Bottle: Dark brown pour with an ample brown head. Nice aroma is roasted malt, cocoa, and lightly hoppy. Tastes rich with lightly bittersweet cocoa, more roasted malt, a bit of florals, and a mild raspberry flavor that compliments the taste rather than taking center stage. Finishes with a nice amount of floral hops and chocolate malt. Smooth and creamy mouthful. Nice.

Bomber from BevMo Salinas. Nose is raspberries, chocolate, and a hint of roasted coffee. Black iwth a very small but long lasting, lighly lacing light tan head. Flavor is bitter dark chocolate dipped raspberries, with the bitterness and raspberries really making themselves heard.
