Can shared at CB. Pours a clear gold with a finger of foam that dissipates. Pungent orange and tangerine aromas, with some dankness and light pine as it warms. Clean and crisp on the palate, good pithy citrus, iyokan and bright tangerine notes on the palate. Super drinkable, good body and balanced. Decent pale ale, a bit to close to a Session IPA for my tastes but with enough juicy hops to demand attention and a strong enough malt base to qualify as an honest-to-god pale. Grapefruit, lemon, and earth on top of biscuit with a smidgen of caramel--all good things--yet the fault lies on the back end, which grows bitter without any accompanying hop or malt depth. It's the dreaded bland Session IPA finish, unwanted and unexpected in the usually strong Sumpin' family. Fades bready and dry, but lacks character. Pours a lovely gold, however, and the nose is a wallop of grapefruit, pine, and grass. Creamy texture is light enough for easy-drinking. Almost sumpin' special. Almost.

Pour is a clear golden with a large white head. Looks like a pale lager in the glass. Aroma is a decent fruity and oniony hop. Flavor is a little thin with citrus hop and a decent amount of bitterness. Probably best for a day at the lake. Just enough flavor to make it interesting but just thin enough to make this crushable.

Can sent by Lagunitas. There is a big fruity smell as the can is popped, with cantaloupe up front, and papaya plus pine resin in there from behind. It shows a big white, spongy head, with a slightly hazy yellow body. The taste is right up there with hops, of course. If had nice and cool, the malt stays in the picture, with just a little bit of toast. The fruit taste in the hops strays into lychee, with more pine resin and a further bit of flower petal. Not quite perfumey. Trying to come up with other impressions, I think of blackberry and maybe spearmint. This is a beer with a strong, single-hop character, with quite a bit of complexity.

4 Week old can > pint glass A: Pours clear pale gold with 1/2" of off-white foam falling slowly to film and leaving sheets of lace. S: Sharp citrus aroma dominated by grapefruit flesh and pith. T: Bracing grapefruit pith bitterness up front then a hint of cracker, ending on an herbal note. M: Light to medium body with very prickly bubble scrub. Finishes clean and very dry. O: Hits all bases nicely for me at a good price. Easy recommendation.
