Aroma of sweet dried fruits, malt, grain, caramel, some candy sugar notes, spicy notes. Flavour is medium sweet with a light bittersweet finish. Thick and a bit sticky. Lots of dried ripe fruits. Some Tripel characteristics, but not much of a Saison.

Bottle. Reddish amber color. Malty, soft salty vinous aroma. Malty yet fairly dry, slightly alcoholic, soft vinous flavor. Citrus. Hint of salt. Low on carbon. Quite interesting.

330ml bottle. Cloudy, dark amber colour with small to average, thick, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Sweet-ish, phenolic fruity aroma, hints of cooked orchard fruit, whiffs of alcohol. Taste is sweet-ish malty and bitter hoppy, minimally sugary hints of caramel, fruity hints of jam and jelly; even more Barley Wine than Triple, not to mention Saison. Sweet, sugary and alcoholic.

Many thanks to RW80 for this bottle! Smooth and grainy sweetish beginning. The beer is round and refreshing, no Saison flavours there, sweetish grain, easy to drink, only hints of sourness. The aftertaste is moderate to long, grainy-sweetish, swessionable but not too deep.

33 cl bottle @ home (been in the closet for quite a while). Deep, clear amber/copper color. Dense off white head with good retention. Aroma’s: fruits, sweet fruit, a bit grain. Retronasal it’s rather sweet, fruits, slightly alcoholic. Flavor is rather sweet, fruity. Medium bodied. Finishes with a bit of a spice bitterness.

0.33 l bottle at Marko’s place, best before June 2016, thanks Marko for sharing! Clear, pale golden amber with a tan to white head. Sweetish-malty, slightly spicy aroma caramel, honey, some vanilla and some marmelade. Sweetish-malty, slightly spicy taste of caramel, honey, some vanilla and a bit of plastic, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter, rather boozy finish. Medium to full body, oily mouthfeel, flat. Not that good.

Clear amber with a modest amount of head; smooth lacing. Interesting smell for a saison, with honey and caramel and boiled corn being present, only a feint funkiness in the nose hints to a saison yeast. The taste follows through, making this more like a hopped barley wine, for me. Sweet notes of red grapes, figs, prunes and honey on top of a bitter body. It gets more complex at around 6-10C.

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 28 Aug 2015) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with orange marmalade, caramel, bread and spicy hops. Malty, fruity taste with notes of orange, mandarin, caramel and a balanced citric bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, quite sweet. Lots of citric hops for a saison makes it a bit atypical, but it’s fresh and well made. Quite nice.

Bottle from Speciaal Bier Bodegraven, BB 06 2016, large sample. Clear dark golden to orange color, short frothy head. Aroma of sweet apples, bit spicy, bit peppery, bit flowery hops, sweet banana candy. Apply sweetness in taste, slight alcohol, bit dry. Apple is usually unintended, but it happens quite often at sallandse. Mainly because they suck at brewing.
