At Men Oh in LA: pours dark brown with beige head. Aroma is molasses... mostly. Taste is somewhat sweet. Body carby. Some light hop character. I had the version made in Vietnam. OK.

Can in Round Rock. Clear mahogany under a large long lasting khaki coloured head leaving tight lace. Nose is molasses, coffee, and light roast. Flavour follows. Mouth is a touch thin with average carbonation. OK dark lager. 6/3+/6/3-/12

Can from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brown with a foamy beige head - somewhat like a Guinness head. Aroma is light chocolate. Near med body. Flavor is earthy chocolate and dark malt. Mildly undry; mildly earthily bitter. Decent Schwarz.

22 ounce can into lager glass, canned on 8/8/2016. Pours crystal clear dark reddish brown color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big chocolate, cocoa, brown sugar, toasted brown bread, light coffee/nuttiness, herbal, grass, and roast/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of roast/bready malts and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big chocolate, cocoa, brown sugar, toasted brown bread, light coffee/nuttiness, herbal, grass, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/grassy hop and roasted bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of chocolate, cocoa, brown sugar, toasted brown bread, light coffee/nuttiness, herbal, grass, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malts and light earthy hop flavors; with a great hop/roast bitter/sweet balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Slight dryness from hop/roast bitterness, lightly increasing through the glass. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with zero yeast notes present. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and slightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is a delicious schwarzbier style. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malts and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, clean, and refreshing to drink. Nice well rounded and complex Munich/roasted malt profile; with just enough hops for balance. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.
