Das Weiherer Rauch, das beim European Beer Star mit der Goldmedaille prämiert worden ist, besticht nicht nur mit glänzendem goldfarbenen Aussehen, sondern vor allem durch seine fein-würzigen Rauchmalznoten. Allein der Geruch lässt sie eindeutig erkennen, doch zeigen sie sich auf ihrem Höhepunkt erst beim Genuss. Da kommt der ganze weiche, niemals zu heftige Malzkörper zum Vorschein, der eingehüllt ist in die zarten Hopfennoten. Da bleibt der Hauch von Rauch auch noch, wenn der letzte Schluck getrunken ist. Ein Bier, das auch nicht-Rauchbier-Kenner überzeugt.

Brand new beer from this tiny brewery. The brewer was reluctant to sell it to me, because the beer didn’t have its own label yet. Amber color. Strong smoke aroma, more of smoked wood as smoked ham. Smoked ham in the flavor, with just a bit of pear to ease down the smoke, which is definitely an acquired taste. Well rounded because of a bit of rest sweetness. The smoke tends to fade away after a few minutes. Good rauchbier, likeable, but not a classic.

0.5 bottle bought in Bamberg. Filtered clear amber with a nice big head. Light malt, medium smoke in the aroma. Flavor is a wide swath of meaty smoke: from deep tones to the bitterness in the back of the palate. Moderate compared to something like Schlenkerla Märzen. Well balanced, clean, one of my favorite Rauchbier.

Flaska från Landbierparadis. Gyllengul, klar med högt vitt skum som lämnar en hel del rester. Lite fruktig doft med lätt rökighet. Lite maltsöt, sädesinslag, lätt, drickvänlig, bomullsmjuk med lätt men mycket smakrik rökighet och lätt beska. Gott

From the bottle. Gold with a frothy white head. Aroma is full of smoke with light accompanying notes of grains and honey. Taste is very mildly bitter with a strongly malty foundation. Finishes smokey and a touch sweeter. Body is medium, oily, carbonation is mild. Monotone but drinkable.

Very pale golden color. Nice Smokey bacon nose with hints of cheese in the background. Low carbonation, very Smokey, a touch sour. Very malty. Nicely balanced. Very enjoyable.

Bottle at Detlef's. Pours light amber with white head. Aroma of smoke with fruity and floral notes. Tastes slightly sweet with balancing bitterness. Medium bodied. Dry mouthfeel.

Bottle at home. Bright yellow golden with white head. Sweet malts, huge stacks of grain, massive smokey beechwood, more woody than smokey actually, oh no I take that back, first it’s dry wood and caramel-like resin, then you taste ash, and boom! Big pure smokestacks. Less porky and bacony than the Schlenck but still very very smoked. Quite sweet and bitter, and quite a meat grease umami bite, beefy liquid ash. 500 ml bottle @ tap house Munich. Pours dark golden with medium-sized fluffy head. Smoky character, malt, some citrus and some metallic and floral notes, a bit tar. Mild taste, some metallic bitterness and malty sweetness. Medium bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, sweetish metallic finish. Nice Rauchbier.
