Das Weiherer Rauch, das beim European Beer Star mit der Goldmedaille prämiert worden ist, besticht nicht nur mit glänzendem goldfarbenen Aussehen, sondern vor allem durch seine fein-würzigen Rauchmalznoten. Allein der Geruch lässt sie eindeutig erkennen, doch zeigen sie sich auf ihrem Höhepunkt erst beim Genuss. Da kommt der ganze weiche, niemals zu heftige Malzkörper zum Vorschein, der eingehüllt ist in die zarten Hopfennoten. Da bleibt der Hauch von Rauch auch noch, wenn der letzte Schluck getrunken ist. Ein Bier, das auch nicht-Rauchbier-Kenner überzeugt.

Fles 50cl thuis. Redelijk zacht, redelijke rooksmaak, grainy, maltig, hoptonen, caramel, bacon, licht süffig, klein bittertje. (29-1-2021).

Dark blond colour with thin head. It's malty and full with a light smokiness. Easy to drink.

Bottle. Color: Clear orange golden, frothy white head. Aroma: Malt, smoke. Taste: Malty, smoke, notes of smoked meat, some caramel which mostly disappears behind the taste of smoke. Light hopbitterness. Medium to just under medium body, average carbonation. Moderate sweet. Ok.

Bottle. Golden pour. Aroma of rauch, malt, bacon and caramel. Taste of savory bacony, rauch, malt, caramel, some yeast and a little orange. Nice old school rauch.

Clear deep golden to light orange, with a healty white head that shows good retention and very nice lacing. This beer has good looks. Decently intense though not too deep aroma shows a grainy malts base, with caramel notes and average per style smokiness (ashy, slightly meaty). Taste notes as per aroma, with smokiness now a bit more subdued. Quite sweet with not much counterparting from bitterness, in both taste and aftertaste. Overall still balanced enough but not exactly what i look for in a rauch, with not much depth either. Ligh to medium bodied with average carbonation, in an overall smooth and quite easy mouthfeel. Didn't meet my likings, but still a legitimate rauch.

Ein eher unbekanntes Rauchbier aus Franken (wenn man das Schlenkerla als Standard nimmt). Allerdings wesentlich dezenter rauchig. Das ist tatsächlich ein Vorteil. Man wird nicht erschlagen vom Rauch und kann ein gutes Bier, mit deutlicher Rauchnote genießen. Man schmeckt noch etwas Getreide, Frucht und florale Noten. Hat einen Hauch zu viel Kohlensäure, ansonsten wäre das ein recht süffiges Bier. „Weiherer Rauch“ ein schlichte kurzer Name, für ein einfach gutes Bier.

Bottle. Clear deep gold with a fluffy inch of white head that lasts pretty well. Rich aroma of grainy bread, smoke, light spices. Quite sweet with slightly flabby bready malt but nice smoke that leads into a modestly bitter end.
