Clear gold in colour, with a creamy white head, and a sweet, biscuit malt aroma with some citrus notes. Creamy mouthfeel with a biscuit malt flavour and a floral sweetness and some citrus hop bitterness

11/9/2019. Cask at the Magpie, London. Pours clear golden with a small just off-white head. Aroma of hops, malt, fruit, flowers, light caramel and grass. Moderate sweetness and bitterness. Moderate body, oily and watery texture, soft carbonation. Nice bit of bitterness comes through but quickly fades. Quite decent.

Half-pint, cask ale in excellent condition at The Duke Of Wellington. Filmy layer to a misty gold-amber coloured body. Lacing rings down the glass. Rich and fresh smell of fruity hops and mid-sweet malts. Taste fine with moments of leafy hops and caramel malts. Rounded bittersweet ending. Well balanced. Good drinking. (Dalston, London 26.09.2018).

0,5 l bottle. Pours light golden yellow with a finger of frothy dissipating white head. Aroma is floral hop and mild malty. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter. Body is on the light side, texture thin and carbonation average. Finish is medium long, dry, moderately bitter, herbal. Easy drinker, despite lite metallic taste.

Hand-pulled pint on 2nd Nov 2017, inside Albert's Shed. Gold body, white crown. Hoppy and woody in nature, fairly dry and fairly bitter: decent. Not sure if this is a re-badged Salopian beer or in fact a new one.

Aug 2011: This beer is brewed some 12 miles up the road from my place: pleased to see it came 3rd overall in the CAMRA 2011 Beers of the Year Comp 2 weeks ago. This review is of a hand pulled cask pint, poured into a UK pint sleeve glass at the excellent ’White Hart’ in Shifnal. Light golden copper body with a good firm head of white foam sat on top. The lacing left on the glass telling me it was in good condition. The smell was of floral hops with an undercurrent of caramel malt sweetness becoming stronger as the beer warm in the glass. The taste was a good, hop front and finish, with the maltines from the aromas being evident too. This is a well balanced beer and very easy to drink. I’ve been to the brewery (in an old creamary) and they are lovely people who produce this brew: 50% of turnover is now Shropshire Gold, so it must be selling.
