Een typische Tripel met een kruidige, aromatische smaaksensatie door gebruik van Gagel. Dit kruid werd in vroegere tijden veel gebruikt in bier voordat hop bekend werd. EBC 10.

Bottle @ home. Clear yellow / orange color, white head. Smell malts, yeast and some spices, don’t really like it. Taste sweet, lightly bitter and again some spices. Nice carbonation, medium body.

Bottle from Bier Koning. Cloudy gold beer, good white head. Light airy palate but slightly over carbonated. Some typical tripel sweetness and then sweet ginger! Trace of citrus. Not bad but a little overbalanced in favour of the ginger.

(Draught at CafΓ© Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 31 July 2010) Hazy golden amber with lasting off-white head. Fruity, spicy nose with distinct notes of bog myrtle, citrus and dried fruit. Fruity, herbal taste with bog myrtle, citrus, apricots and a generously bitter-sweet finish with a certain alcohol bite and distinct flavours of bog myrtle. Slightly more than medium body. Interesting herbal experiment and a quite lovely beer.

Draught at t’ Arendsnest. Orange-gold color with a tall, pillowy, fine head. Spicy, herbal aroma, like ginger and maybe ginseng, raisins, very spicy. Thick, rich, and heavy. Huge spice flavor: ginger, cinammon, hone, speculoos cookies, and a bitter finish. Very sweet, but spice and alcohol balance it nicely. Interesting, and although it does have a bit too much spice, it pulls it off quite well.
