22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 5/19/2017. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger dense dark khaki head with amazing retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice thick soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, vanilla, cream, toffee, spicy rye, oak, whiskey, toasted oats, dark bread, light nuttiness/smoke, and roast/oaky earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready/rye malt, rye whiskey barrel, and lactose notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, vanilla, cream, toffee, spicy rye, oak, whiskey, toasted oats, dark bread, light nuttiness/smoke, and roast/oaky earthiness. Light-moderate rye/whiskey/oak spiciness and light roast bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, vanilla, cream, toffee, spicy rye, oak, whiskey, toasted oats, dark bread, light nuttiness/smoke, and roast/oaky earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready/rye malt, rye whiskey barrel, and lactose flavors; with an awesome roasted bitter/sweet and rye/whiskey/oak spiciness balance, with zero cloying/acrid flavors after the finish. Slight dryness from roast bitterness and rye/oak spiciness, lightly increasing through the glass. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety, and lightly sticky/chalky/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Alcohol is very well hidden; a mild increasing warmth, with no barrel booziness lingering after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic barrel aged imperial oatmeal milk stout. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready/rye malt, rye whiskey barrel, and lactose flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the big ABV. Definitely more spicy rye/whiskey presence from the recipe change, and a creamier/silkier mouthfeel than the original. A highly enjoyable offering.

Sampled on draft at Hou Thou this beer poured a black color with a medium sized foamy brown head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was toasty malts, anise, floral hops, chocolate and coffee. The flavor was strong chocolate followed by vanilla cream, marshmallow, a bit of graininess, port wine and sharp biting fruity and floral hops. Long chocolate and marshmallow finish. Thick and smooth body. Outstanding!

22 oz bottle poured into a Spiegelau tulip. Bottled 3/10/2015. Dark brownish black with 1.5 fingers of tan head. Aromas of big whiskey, dark chocolate, some booze, a little soy sauce. Tastes of whiskey, dark chocolate, oak, some booze. Full body with a dry and slightly warm finish. Gets better as it warms. Nicely done!

650 ml bottle shared by Chalumeaux, much thanks T.J. Pitch black color with a low carbonation level. Aroma is oatmeal flakes, chocolate and a very mild bourbon nuance.

This is pretty much a carbon copy of the aroma. Rye grain through the center with light chocolate upfront with notes of vanilla and a very low barrel character. The bourbon is very light and almost not even noticeable in the finish. For what they charge for the price of this bottle the bourbon should be bolder.

Poured from bottle dark cola pour with a nice lacey tan head. Aromas of oatmeal dark fruit spice cocoa and rye whiskey. Taste is semi sweet with notes of cocoa coffee and bourbon. Taste like it needs more time in the barrel.
