On keg at the Hanging Bat. Appearance - golden amber with a creamy head. Nose - orange and barley mostly. Touch of grassiness. Taste - more orange, possibly blood orange. An edge of resin. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - decent.

Draft at Brewdog Tower Hill. I've been wanting to try a beer from this brewery for a long time. I was fascinated by all the hype and always put off by the price of their cans online and from shops. Are they all mouth and no trousers? The answer: no. This is a good new world IPA with a fruity richness that is very much on trend, but I was expecting much more as a result of all the noise. Very well worth trying, but I don't need to seek out other beers from the brewery which is a follower and not a leader.

Tap@Mikkeller Vik, Copenhagen - golden Amber pour with white head and lacing. Sweet malty and fruity with some notes of grapefruit and satsuma, peachy notes, sweet malty support, hoppy finish.

Keg at the earl of Essex. A clear golden orange coloured pour with a frothy white head. Aroma is sweet and juicy, peach melon and tangerine, hint of caramel. Palate is semi sweet, sticky hop, frothy moderate carbonation. Flavour is composed of semi sweet Base malts, juicy orange and floral honeysuckle notes, tangerine and mango. Really nice stuff.
New Trembling. Upstairs is ace.
