3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze Vintage is a blend of one-, two-, and three-year old lambics. Instead of releasing them after minimum 6 months of bottle conditioning, the vintage series have been cellared for at least three years up to even five years and longer before being released. For an Oude Geuze to become a Vintage, it features characteristics that are unique, sometimes surprising or outspoken. Spontaneous fermentation, patient maturation in oak barrels, and continued evolution of the ecosystem in the bottle result in a distinctively complex and elegant natural beer. No two bottlings are alike, as there are multiple variables in the blending process, a variety of barrel sizes and shapes, differences in aged lambic proportions in the blend, etc. When cellared properly, 3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze can be aged for several decades. The aromas and flavours will evolve from notes of vibrant fresh citrus, zesty and grassy notes to a mellow, oaky, stone fruit bouquet as the lambic continues to develop with time. Lambic and Geuze are living, cultural heritage rooted in the Zenne valley! Taste, savour, enjoy and experience this bottle fermented, unfiltered, unpasteurised and unadulterated beer with friends new and old!

2005 vintage bottle. Super funky nose, all kind of crazy vegetables like onions and mushrooms. Flavor is a crazy sour mixture with some lambic-y fruit notes, weird cellary flavors. Maybe a bit past its prime but still quite interesting. 7/4/7/3/16 Previously had 2005, now the 2002: reddish brown, small head. Funky mushroom hotpot nose, not as intense/overpowering as many sours. Excellent condition. Flavor is a crazy mixture: rubbery notes, onion, mushroom, quite dry sour notes. 7/4/6/3/16

Surprisingly towering head, very dense & fine, light yellow over foxy orange clear beer. Sharp fruity & farmyard nose, lactic acid, lemon, horseblanket, little bit of putteke , saddlesoap. Quite sharp - acid flavour, again fruity - unripe grapes f.i. - straw, wood, horseblanket. Finish has something fleeting as anise. The chunk in the armour of this one is a very lean body, not only because of acidthinning, but also from the composition of the beer itself; whilst the flavours diminish rapidly, and not I mals /I of course. Good carbonation. Maybe not the best of 3F, which still makes it just great.
