A hazed golden amber ale with no head. In aroma, nice sweet fruity malt ground cherries, lactic acid, Epsom salts, nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with light ground cherry, light Brett, light cork, nice and smooth. On tap at Lupulus.

Pricy bottle purchased at Spruce Creek Provisions. Dirty copper color ale. Aroma has strong oak, funky yeast, and sour grapes. The texture is dry with a rather funky sour finish. Some people will like this. For me it really isn’t my thing. Why the hell do I keep buying Sour / wild ales??

Draught at Deep Ellum, 9/9/18.
Fully-hazed, rusty-copper. Rich, off-white head fizzles away slowly.
Cherry-acetic notes are prominent up front, initially, with good oakiness and a typical Oxbow mixed-fermentation beer acid profile (light-to-moderate acetic, moderate-to-strong lactic, light-to-moderate Brett). Some dry toffee/caramel/toasted malt and red fruits much like Ish and the other sour amber and red beers. Pretty nice, even, barrel character, but nothing really particular stands out and I would be hard pressed to even guess what spirit was in this, let alone which particular wine.
In the mouth it's dry, tart, malty and fruity. Very lambic-blend-like, much to my pleasure, with rich oak tones, honey and very fruity lactic and Brett notes showing very good aging that produces little/no sharpness despite the acetic acid. No alcohol felt, though the abv is a bit higher than expected/desired here. Orange marmalade and biscuit with a good sourness and aceto-burn throughout. Definitely on the decadent side but a very nice texture, carbonation, attenuation and barrel character, so it manages it well.

Sour light oak, excellent white wine character. Funky yeasty character. Light body. Low carbonation. So smooth. Excellent

On tap at Oxbow, pours a hazy dark bronze with a tiny head. Aroma brings out lots of wild yeast, oak barrels and light tartness. Flavour is along the same lines, with wild yeast, oak barrels and lightly tart vinous notes. Complex, oaky and wild yeast funk on the finish. Very good.
